With today’s high divorce rate, single-working parents, and an increasingly violent society, our children need to find a safe place. Imagery For Kids: Discovering Your Special Place, an audio tape by Charlotte Reznick Ph.D., is a wonderful guided journey to help children find the safe place inside themselves.
Charlotte has worked as a Child and Educational Psychologist for over 10 years. She has taught extensively in workshops across the country, and continues to develop in the areas of psychology and education.
In this tape, she teaches a relaxation technique called the “Balloon Breath”, and introduces children to relaxing their bodies from their toes to their nose. From there, she takes an inward turn and helps the child to discover that magic place of unconditional love designed by the child herself.
Each new step is reinforced by positive acknowledgement. Reznick works with imaging white ball of light turning into a waterfall of light washing over the listener’s body to clear, relax and go deeper. With gentle music, she assists the child in creating and exploring the realms of his imagination. By feeling free to design the set of their voyages, children learn they do have control over themselves, which can be very empowering. It helps them to feel happy with themselves, accepted, and loved – in the way they want to create it.
